Imagine rolling into the season with Groh and Walch still here. Eww.

It really makes me question Doug. I’m glad someone stepped in and overruled him. He might not be good at firing people.

Hopefully the OL can block up well enough for those deeper routes to develop.  I’m counting on Lane Johnson to rebound from what, for him, was a subpar year last season.

Wasn't Lane injured for the majority of last year?

Here's the original article: https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/philadelpia-eagles-doug-pederson-coaching-staff-20200909.html

In addition to the Pederson/Groh/Walch situation, other interesting insights:

- Why Phillip Daniels wasn't retained

- Insights into Groh/Wentz dynamic

- Lurie's interesting reaction to the 2018 playoff win against the Bears

Tons of assumptions and questions.  Jackson was healthy opening day last year as well.  Jalen Reachor is already hurt and we don’t know what we have with the other two rookies.  With all those questions it’s anything but "straight forward”.

some fans are in serous denial about this team because of 2017 and this is not 2017, it's 2020 and last year everything has fallen apart, yes they made the playoffs but every team in our division was terrible and we got lucky but this offseason was a disaster besides slay and that's it, it's not going to be enough plus alot teams in our division got talent plus better coaches, that's not very encouraging either.

The OL really does have the potential to be an unmitigated disaster.

Theyve held Mailata for several years now and seem hesitant to even make him a backup.  Its going to look really bad having an old OL if he doesnt pan out.

Not at all

Person 1, agrees terms and conditions with Person 2

Person 1 than changes the terms and conditions and Person 2 wants to be compensated differently.

I cant think of any walk of life where a the terms of services are changed(grater) and the 2nd party doesnt care.

Again.  You get a quote on the bathroom work, which includes what will be done (1 bathroom).  It turns into a contract.  Both parties sign.  At that point, once the work is done the customer is obligated to pay the contractor or they will be in breech.  In no world will the contractor be forced to do work on a second bathroom when it was never included in the agreement.  Again, idiotic comparison.  But you keep trying to convince yourself it isn't.  Take the L .......Dak lover.

Can you two just meet up and fight already

No NFL team is equipped after the draft to handle losing 3 starters (both offensive tackles, all-pro RG). The fact that we may hang on due to our depth is actually impressive.

For reference Mailata is only 23-

Strippers going to be saddened by this.

Nah, there are many strip clubs around the stadium which will apparently be the only places accepting cash. 😁

Lurie needs to hold Howie accountable too! To put Doug on the hot seat alone isn’t fair. They just cut nearly their entire 2017 draft and he made a few head scratching trades and draft picks as of late. Give me a break. How Howie is untouchable is beyond me.

Every team in our division is still terrible. The new coaches/ New Schemes will actually hurt them to start the season, especially in light of limited Training camp and no preseason Games etc.   We are the only team with continuity in the East.

What has Kaepernick ever said that would convince anyone that he would take a PS position where he agrees to self quarantine so he would be available to play. What has he ever done to convince folks he would add almost a second position level coach input in the QB room?

That's why the article is incredibly stupid.

Honestly I dont think the writer can be this dumb.  Has to be some kind of click-bait article.  But I mean at least make it have some sense.

It's a perfect example of media bias and how it is sometimes "hidden" from the general public because if you don't follow the Eagles (or the NFL much) and were to read the article, you could think something is "very wrong" with that scenario.

The writer intentionally leaves out (whether he did it without proper research or on purpose is irrelevant, imo) the fact that McCown was...

A. Already here last season, knows the offense, etc.

B. Likely wants WAY LESS MONEY

C. Is basically an additional QB coach for the team.

D.  The Eagles could simply think that McCown is a better locker room fit and fits this team better

That's bias and irresponsible journalism, imo.
