It would also be nice to have receivers who don't drop passes and can get open and not get injured after every single play.

And a starting quality OLine consistently.

And the starting RB.

And both premium TEs at the same time.

But WTF...its all Wentz's fault.

If true, its amazing he believes he will go somewhere else and not need to still compete for a job. He’s been that bad this season.

Right. No matter where he is he will have to actually earn the starting job.

Sooooo if no one wants to pay the "significant" price for Wentz what then? Can't have 35 mil sitting on the bench. If someone does pay the "significant" price which QB do we draft?

Everyone acts like we got significantly better as a team without Wentz. We beat a Saints team who was completely looking past us then lost to the Cards and Cowgirls......

We are going to be sorry.  QB purgatory is an awful place to be.

Good thing we're a factory 😉😉

I’ve never understood this logic. Yes they absolutely can have a $35M QB sitting on the bench. If he’s on the team, they have to pay him that money whether he starts or is the backup. So is it better to pay him $35M to lose you games, or pay him to sit while you win games?

Ok I'll correct myself. You can't have thirty five million of your salary cap sitting on the bench and expect to have a good team on the field. So you start him next year and hope he's worked his stuff out and give him a decent line.

Well they put up 400+ yards of offense in back to back games for the first time all season with Hurts... so yeah, they did play noticably better without Wentz. Yeah the Cowboys game sucked but they played well against the Saints (whether you want to make the excuse of them "looking past” the Eagles or not) and the Cardinals.

We didn't improve one bit.  Those kinds of surprises happen all the time. So many people are just hell bent to destroy this team that they can't admit it.

That’s the same thing. You are paying him either way. No point on playing him if there is a better option.

But but we had more yards of offense! To bad that isn't the number that counts on the scoreboard.

So what QB you drafting then?

Its not a 0 or a 1 and "everybody" is not acting like that. Wentz s*cked this year and there are very observable reasons that have a lot to do with him. Is it a team sport? Well, I think so and therefore there are dependencies throughout. If there is an excuse for him, it is with the head coach who's system doesn't seem to take advantage of Wentz's strengths, rolling out, and a QB coach who hasn't coached him to address his accuracy issues. This all or nothing dichotomy that keeps getting played like wild card is BS. Somewhere between the personalization of the issue is how Wentz played and it was not very good.

ESPN has an article. 'Fractured beyond repair'. This is coming from the Wentz camp.

On the other hand there has been rumors about Wentz just about every off-season since the SB saying that he lacked leadership and wasn't coachable due to his lack of ability to handle criticism. He is likely butthurt that he was benched for Hurts even though he has regressed drastically and not improved in the areas that he continually struggled (ball security, throwing the ball away etc.) It's going to be tough to trade him with all the dead cap they'll have to eat.

Wentz doesnt want to compete for the job next year.  That’s my impression

just dont send him to new england.

But Wentz isn't cut out for this market.  He's a small town kid from a small time program.  Say what you will about Hurts, but you can see the poise and the pedigree. There's a reason some guys are recruited by Alabama and Oklahoma and others by North Dakota State. That more than translates at the next level.

I suspect there's more to that than most care to admit. I'm pretty sure the media in N. Dakota was not nearly as predatory as here.

Yep he played bad. But he deserves the offseason to see if he got himself straight. He also could use some better coaching and talent around him as well. And no that isn't asking for to much.

Will Wentz give back 20 million to get out? 🙂

If he does, it says a hell of alot about the quality of this organization.

Doug has made one horrible decision after other this year. Playing Peters over JM, putting AJ back on the field when the kid was going nuts with catches. Throw him out the door and keep Wentz and see how he does under a new system. Doug can be replaced a lot easier.

You Washers are hell bent to destroy this team by attaching it to the anchor known as Carson Wentz while it sinks to the bottom of the ocean.  Thank god the team isn’t stupid enough to listen to you guys.

There were far more uncatchable throws from Wentz this year than there were drops.

Man, Tyrone is spot on describing some posters around here.

Actually from what ive read here on the boards the majority think howie sucks, doug should probably get another year, and wentz is in a critical funk and had the worst year of any qb in the league.

the big issue with this organization right now imo is the impression we keep getting that howie is untouchable.

i find it interesting that the wentz rumor is playing out this way at this time.   If wentz is leaking his dissatisfaction with doug while the season isnt even over yet he is a true POS selfish teammate and leader and that’s going to follow him wherever he ends up

Outside of Fulgham until Doug benched him who has come to the Eagles in the last year or two and played better? Heck, who has played better in general? Mailata and DG? Probably end of list, but yeah Wentz is the anchor.
