For those that can't watch the video:

Opens by saying they invested in Carson and believe he's going to take them to another Super Bowl, and want to surround him with great players.  Says he told Carson earlier in the day Jalen Hurts would be an option so he knew.

Then says they want to develop QBs and be a QB factory.

On QB controversy:  said no different than bringing in Nick Foles and paying him money.  Says Sudfeld wants opportunity to go somewhere else and start so he might not be here a year from now, so wanted to get the QB ahead of time to develop.

Doug doesn't even look happy, he looks annoyed (maybe he IS drunk as someone said lol).  Compares to other QB combos.  Wants to explore that like Flacco/Jackson, Brees/Hill.

Do you expect a 2nd round pick to be a starter/and what about using it to trade up?  - likes Reagor, excited about him.  Hurts wasn't a factor in not trading up.  Repeated about wanting to have strong QB room and they've always gotten great VALUE in the QB position (sounds like compiling assets).

Why draft a player that won't play this season instead of a guy who won't play this year?  - Howie repeats value of QB

Howie repeated several times Carson is a Pro Bowl QB, on the cusp of MVP and phenomenal.

Doug: Press Taylor went to his Pro day, and they all saw him at the combine.

Weidl: he's part of the new guard of mobile QBs: can run and pass well.  Poised in pocket, but can throw on the move as well.

Doug; there might not be an offseason so will take time to develop.

Howie kept saying valuable player and collecting assets - says they've benefited in the past and mentions they can develop and then trade the "assets."

Most horrible and and arrogant.

Cowboys sadly are having a great draft. So frustrating

So are the Giants and R-Words, and compared to us every other team in the NFL.

Because nothing says "win now" like surrounding your young quarterback with more young quarterbacks.

They also will have a better coach for this season than they had last season(s)

Well maybe Howies plan is to give the division to them this year so we get to pick earlier then them next year and he wants payback

I hate her

Me too. Now she will start the narrative that Carson is a locker room cancer and now Howie realizes it as well

So why the F can't they make Sudfeld into Tom Brady?

If anything, getting Hurts would have made more sense for Cowboys since Dak isn't signing and to gain leverage on Dak. NOT Eagles.

Or why did Thorson fail so miserably?

It was comical when he said Sudfeld wants to go somewhere and start.  He had that chance this year. No one offered

Maybe when the Dak contract talks blow up we will offer Hurts for Cooper and Lamb? Lmao

I dont know how you can defend the pick. Its a head scratcher and defies logic. Maybe they ship Hurts to the Jags for Yannick?

They can't even make Sudfeld into someone worth a late rd pick.

Or even a guy who can beat out a 40 year old journeyman QB.

So he wastes a  2nd round pick and forgo a position of need to invest in a low ceiling QB...In order to acquire future assess that will at best likely only result in a 2nd pick anyway? Wut?

This  logic only works with late round picks..And its a very slim margin of flipping him for a 1st , and  now you're betting on Carson Wentz getting injured and him performing amazing to get a shot at a 1st..Insane.

Translation: We invested in a second round pick in the hopes that down the road we can get back more than that. Like a first round pick in 2023? A bunch of fifth round picks? Doesn't make sense.

Howie said on his interview that they drafted Hurts because he was a great player, a "GREAT GUY," and a "GREAT PERSON."

Howie always looking for players with character that is off the charts. Character can't be taught. Cannot have too much character guys on the team.

I think Hurts deserves a lot of credit for the way he rebounded from being benched in the National Championship Game. The way he handled it, the way he came in to win the SEC Championship Game the following year, and then going to Oklahoma and finishing second in the Heisman race. Say what you will about the pick and all that, but I give the guy a lot of credit for that stuff. I think that says a lot about him.

When your franchise qb gets injured missing the playoffs 3 years in a row you get someone in to play playoff football for year 4. It's like battered wife syndrome in here listening to all the tears for Wentz. The greatest QB to never win a playoff game. Move on they picked up insurance that'll most likely be the starter at some point this year if history is any indication.
